Position Description/Position Summary

Responsible for the initiation, design, development, execution, and implementation of process and analytical projects. Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions and products. Plans, manages, troubleshoots, and provides technical guidance during process development activities. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the art principles and theories and may contribute to scientific literature and conferences. Represents process development in cross-functional teams while leading the completion of necessary process development documentation. May participate in development of patent applications. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.

Position Responsibilities:

• Leads technical projects of moderate complexity. Utilizes team leadership skills to effectively communicate, facilitate and organize project activities related to biologic/tissue based processes. Develops and manages project schedules to ensure deadlines are met. Provides input to management for creating project budgets and identifying necessary resources.

• Supports regulatory filings by reviewing or writing applicable sections of IDE’s, IND’s or other regulatory submissions.

• Support Product Development team in reviewing process CAPA’s, providing input to process line improvements.

• May work with supplier quality to help select qualified suppliers for process development activities, participate in facility audits.

• May plan, write, review, and/or approve stability and other analytical protocols, methods, and reports.

• May write, review, and/or approve manufacturing batch records.

Other skills and abilities:

Rigorous analysis methodology, applied research experience, project management, problem solving, and good communication skills are essential. Excellent candidates will have experience with biologics and/or regenerative medicine and will demonstrate skill for the following:

•Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills

•Demonstrates strong technical writing skills, good interpersonal skills

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, Eagerness to learn and expand responsibilities

•Ability to work well under pressure and maintain positive, enthusiastic attitude

•Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong working relationships.

•Travel up to 20% may be required

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in biomedical, chemical or other scientific related field and a minimum of 4 plus years of related experience, Or

Masters degree in biomedical, chemical or other scientific related field and a minimum of 2 plus years of related experience

Ph.D. in biomedical, chemical or other scientific related field.

Desired/Preferred Experience:

• Medical Device Industry experience
