An increasing older population is coupled with an increasing occurrence of chronic disease conditions. This growth in the chronic patient population is driving the increasing adoption of newer and more advanced surgical robotic technologies which are intended to prove the surgeon with improved visualisation, dexterity and informatics in order to improve patient outcomes. The global surgical robot market size was valued at USD 4.0 billion in 2015 and is expected to grow at a 10-20% over the decade. Medtronic is currently expanding their minimally invasive surgery scope and ability into the field of robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery in Europe. Medtronic’s Surgical Robot’s speciality focus will be in the general surgery disciplines such as thoracic, urology, gynaecologic, and colorectal.

TheSenior Sales Training Specialistwill be responsible for the design, development and delivery of sales training initiatives for highly technical, complex medical technology. These training initiatives will be focused on, but not limited to New Hire Training and Tenured Sales Representatives product launch training,

This will involve working in close collaboration with global RD Managers, in-country Regional Sales Managers, Product Managers, Field Sales Trainers and Training Managers and also the European Product and Procedure Marketing teams. Flexibility in work commitments, location and working hours is required for success in this fascinating role.

**A day in the Life**

Lead the development and execution of EMEA New Hire and tenured Sales Representatives and Sales Training strategy including:

+ On boarding, At home, In House, Field training

+ Align the training strategy with Surgical Innovations approach to ensure consistency where appropriate

+ Lead the facilitation and management of the English Speaking International Training Courses

+ Support the Non English speaking training courses by providing content and execution strategy

+ Support and develop Key Opinion Leader and the IRCAD faculty and sales training collaboration through presence on HCP trainings or IRCAD courses and continued interaction with the faculty regarding the IRCAD certification of Surgical Innovation sales training. Extending this relationship to other Key Opinion Leaders, who could bring value to Minimally Invasive Therapies Group sales training

+ Support European Marketing in product launch execution incorporating best practices for training and selling

+ Align with the EMEA Skills Development Manager and Sales Excellence Manager and the commercial excellence training team to incorporate respective initiatives into training strategy with a focus on how to sell capital equipment

Continuously develop self in key deliverable areas:

+ Highly technical, complex medical technology: Functional and technical Skills

+ Facilitation Skills

+ Training Design Skills

+ Consultative Selling Skills (Optional)

Performance Consultancy Competencies

**Must haves**

+ Relevant University Degree BA/BSc

+ 3 to 5 years sales and/or marketing management experience, medical device industry required, minimal invasive surgery preferred

+ Experience in training and education mandatory, including experience in instructional design

+ Experience with medical simulation preferred

+ Excellent knowledge of minimally invasive surgery medical device market

+ Experience managing and coaching a team preferred

+ Experience with a medical startup preferred

+ Project Management Skills and working within a virtual team preferred

+ Proficient in the use of MS Office, multi-media and distance learning technology (LMS, virtual classroom)

+ Experience with CRM ( system preferred

+ Fluent in written and spoken English required; any other European language is a strong plus. **Nice to haves:**

+ Presentation skills : Is effective in different presentation settings, commands attention and can manage groups

+ Innovation management : Good at bringing creative ideas to market, good judgment about how ideas will play out

+ Technical learning : Can learn new skills and knowledge, picks up technical things quickly

+ Customer focus : Dedicated to meeting expectations of internal and external customers

+ Action orientated: Full of energy to take on challenges, enjoys working hard

+ Organizing: Can arrange information, marshal resources and orchestrate multiple activities to accomplish goals

+ Managing stress: is able to work under time pressure, able to prioritize, balance work between several projects

The candidate can be based anywhere in Europe: preferred locations are Strasbourg, France or Belgium.
