**TheField Service Engineer is the primary technical representative for Medtronic AFSolutions customers and the sales and clinical teams. The FSE is alsoresponsible for the technical assessment, installation, support, servicing, maintenanceand de-installation of all AF Solutions systems at customer sites. The FSEworks closely with the Field Service and Technical Service teams to helpcoordinate feedback with the Marketing, Quality, Production and Engineeringgroups in order to continually evaluate the performance of products in thefield. This position may also requireproviding technical assistance to physicians or technologists during a clinicalprocedure.**

+ **Perform installations, inspections, verification,corrective and preventive maintenance to ensure the successfulinstallation of AF Solutions consoles.**

+ **Maintain and submit technical records anddocumentation as per regulatory requirements.**

+ **Provide information from experiences in the fieldto colleagues in the office as well as updates to the database.**

+ **Provide input to service processes to ensurecontinuous improvement and evolution of the Field Service organization. Thisincludes the development and maintenance of Service documentation andprocedures.**

+ **Provide input to Engineering and Manufacturingfor upgrades to AF Solutions products.**

+ **Participate in the development and delivery oftechnical training to our distributors, partners, agents and technicallyqualified representatives of customer base.**

+ **Help facilitate the smooth introduction of newproducts to customers by participating in design improvement discussions.**

+ **Investigate, analyze and recognize trends intechnical data as it relates to AF Solutions products.**

+ **Participate in special projects as requested bythe US Field Service Manager or designee.**

+ **Participate in and provide technical training tophysicians, EP technicians and department managers at customer sites.**


+ Bachelor’s degree inan Engineering discipline and 2-4 years’ experience in field service,quality assurance, complaint testing, design or compliance testing of medical,aerospace or other technical devices.A Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline can be considered inlieu of this experience.


+ 5 years of fieldservice, quality assurance, complaint testing, design or compliancetesting of medical, aerospace or other technical devices plus a Bachelorof Science Degree in a non-engineering discipline


+ Ability to applyengineering principles such as electrical, mechanical, thermodynamic andbiomedical to troubleshooting without complete technical documentation.

+ Ability totroubleshoot problems and technically diagnose medical equipment. Excellent English writing and verbalcommunication skills

+ Experience in teachingtechnical subject matter

+ Excellent timemanagement skills and detail oriented

+ Flexibility to travelfrequently including possible international locations.

+ Ability to workindependently, self-motivated and without direct supervision.

+ Extensive direct, faceto face customer contact and interaction

+ Ability to work closelywith customers, listen to their issues and then develop a plan to increaseconfidence and satisfaction with AF Solutions products and services.

+ Continuous verbal andwritten communication.

+ Frequent 2-handedlifting of up to 40 lbs. from floor to chair/table and from one to anothersurface at approximately the same level.

+ Frequently required touse hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

+ Specific visionabilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision,depth perception, and ability to adjust focus in relation to travel andoperating a personal computer.

+ Must be insurable andmaintain a valid driver’s license.

+ Ability to travelextensively with ease (approx. 75% of time)

+ Must be able to driveapproximately 30% of the time within assigned territory.

+ Environmental exposureto infectious disease and radiation.

+ FSE's are required tobe within their assigned territory each day to be available as unscheduledneeds arise.
